The Instituto Campana, founded in 2009 by Fernando and Humberto Campana, will inaugurate its most ambitious project on October 25th and 26th: Parque Campana. Located in the city of Brotas, where the brothers spent their childhood, the park aims to integrate art, education, and nature. In its first phase, the park features eight pavilions designed by the Campana Brothers, built with local materials, plants, and natural fibers, creating architecture in harmony with nature.
Conceived as a space for contemplation and learning, the park includes an environmental education program. Guided tours will enhance the immersive experience of the artwork’s concepts, and in a second phase, workshops on manual techniques, courses, and artist residencies will be offered. There will also be a café and a gallery showcasing a selection from the Campana Institute’s collection of over 6,000 pieces.
A pioneering scientific research project is also planned, focusing on restoring the landscape in the transition zone between the Atlantic Forest and the Cerrado biomes. Pastures will be transformed into forests and diversified, ecologically balanced, and multifunctional agricultural systems.
“We learned to appreciate nature with our father who was an agricultural engineer. As a kid, I would make treehouses and walk barefoot as I wanted to belong to an indigenous group. Fernando loved coming to the park and spend hours in the forest’s watchtower observing wildlife. This park is our way of sharing what we hold dearest in one place, an invitation to connect with the essence of our work, a celebration of life, valuing our roots and our planet,” says Humberto Campana.
