Frida Escobedo Studio chosen as associate designer collaborating with Moreau Kusunoki as the winning team for the Centre Pompidou 2030 renovation projects.
The Centre Pompidou unveils its renovation project for 2030. The technical component of the project, led by AIA Life Designres, addresses the sustainability, accessibility, and safety of the structure built nearly fifty years ago, meeting current environmental, health, and energy standards while respecting the building’s heritage. Construction requires the complete closure of the building for five years, beginning at the end of summer 2025. The newly inaugurated cultural component, entrusted to Moreau Kusunoki in association with Frida Escobedo Studio, aligns with the technical project while exploring the possibilities of a spatial and functional reorganization of this architectural icon in response to the Pompidou’s evolving program.
