Escher X nendo | Between Two Worlds is a groundbreaking exhibition that features the work of Dutch artist M. C. Escher in dialogue with the work of acclaimed Japanese design studio nendo.
“What makes this exhibition particularly interesting is that as well as having these incredible 160 works on paper, is that we’ve actually invited a Japanese design team called Nendo to conceive the whole look and feel of the show,” said Tony Ellwood, director of the NGV. “We’ve never done that before and in fact, Nendo’s never done that before. The reason that we paired the two together is because both are really interested in innovation and optical illusion. There’s a lot that connects them.”
